How I Started Blockplate

How I Started Blockplate

February 18, 2020
I was and still am an engineer. I designed stuff for airplanes. I wanted to do something for the bitcoin buddies. Ah, metal seed storage! I can do something like that. The current methods had a lot of stuff you needed and then leftover when you were done. It seemed not only intimidating but also bit wasteful. But how else do you write in metal? What would a kindergartener be comfortable with? I started the search for my answer. While taking a shower, I noticed a grid pattern on the wall. There, it dawned on me. I can use a grid to represent letters and words! But how do I mark it? From my college metal shop days, I remembered the automatic center punch! So, I designed this engraved plate that could store your seed with only a center punch. I called it a Blockplate.
